Dato Sri' Yeat, an embodiment of tenacity and determination, defied societal norms and overcame formidable challenges to emerge as a successful entrepreneur. Due to family financial constraints, Dato Sri' Yeat embarked on his entrepreneurial journey at a young age, turning adversity into opportunity.

Dato’ Sri Yeat is the Founder and major shareholder of GD Holdings and group of companies, a well diversified group with interests in property development, agro sector, food & beverages, entertainment, and credit lending.

With his extensive entrepreneurial track record and heritage over 30 years, he has successfully built a wide network of high growth entrepreneurs and industry experts in Malaysia and across Asia with focus in China.  Dato Sri' is known to have successfully facilitated numerous international cooperation and foreign direct investments into Malaysia.

He was the first Malaysian to be awarded “The Outstanding Young Person of the World (TOYP) Award” by Junior Chamber International in 2003, under the Business, Economic and Entrepreneurial Accomplishment Category.

In 1999, he was conferred D.M.S.M. (Datuk) by the Governor of Melaka and in 2015 he was conferred the S.S.A.P (Dato’ Sri) by the Sultan Pahang in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Malaysia. In 2017, Dato’ Sri Yeat was appointed as the Special Advisor of Malaysia-China Affairs by Prime Minister’s Department due to his vast experience and strong China connections for the past 30 years

He also holds various prominent positions in the Malaysia and International Chambers and Associations and has contributed significantly to the business and social communities.

Jason Ng Heng Sin CFA; MSc In Investment Analysis; CA; ACMA

Chief Executive Officer

Jason Ng has nearly three decades of venture capital / private equity experience investing in multi-stage companies across various sectors including ICT,  electronics, industrial products, consumer products, health care, food and agri-tech. He has led and played instrumental roles in all facets of investment process from deal origination, deal structuring, portfolio management via board and executive representation/participation to drive shareholder value creation.

Jason is deeply passionate about fostering a thriving entrepreneurial eco-system by investing in them to scale faster. As such, he takes a proactive role in steering and guiding portfolio companies to succeed with his financial, operational and network expertise. Some of the portfolio companies have successfully being listed on Bursa.

Prior to Co- Founding Newgen,  Jason was the Co-Founder of Expedient Equity Sdn Bhd, a local venture capital management companies mandated by the Government of Malaysia Venture Capital arm’s Malaysia Venture Capital Management Berhad (MAVCAP) through its outsourcing program to focus on early stage life sciences and ICT investments.  

Back in 1998, Jason was heading the Malaysia operation of Transpac Capital Pte Ltd, a regional fund headquartered in Singapore. Transpac Capital was one of Asia largest private equity firm with a total regional fund size of over USD800mil focussed on high growth companies, M & As and management buyouts. Jason had also worked with China Invesment Development Corporation (CIDC) Taiwan's only cross border direct equity investment company as their Malaysia Executive Representative focussing on growth stage companies.  Its shareholders include Canada's premier financial services group and eleven of Taiwan largest and most influential powerhouses of Taiwan economy.

In his early days, Jason was the Investment Manager and a pioneer team member of BI Walden, a venture capital fund set up jointly by Walden , USA and local financial instituitions.

Jason qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (CMA) in 1984 and became an Associate in 1995. He received his MSc in Investment Analysis from UK in 1990, and is a Chartered Accountant (CA) registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) since 1996, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 1999. Jason was also the Hon. Treasurer of Malaysia Venture Capital and Private Equity Association from 2009 to 2010.

Anthony Mah Song Sien MMIM, MBA, BTMgt (Hons)

Vice President (Investments)

Anthony is a seasoned professional with solid management experience and strong background in technology.  His multidisciplinary exposure and strong analytical skills has seen him engaged in technology deal evaluation, technical due diligence and market assessments for investments.  Over the years, he has also built up strong links with the eco-system of SMEs, associations and industry institutions, as well as financial institutions in Malaysia and China.

Anthony is currently serving as Executive Director of INS Capital Sdn Bhd, providing leadership to its licensed money lending, financial advisory and investment activities. He is also the Director of Intan Prima Township Development Sdn Bhd which involved in real estate development.

In 2018, Anthony was appointed as the Foreign Investment Advisor by the Vice Mayor of The People’s Government of Foshan, China. He has been the Deputy Secretary General of Malaysia Foshan Chamber of Commerce since 2016. Anthony was also the Special Officer (Malaysia-China affairs) to the Former Prime Minister YABhg. Tun Abdullah Bin Ahmad Badawi in 2015 to 2018.

Prior to that, Anthony was attached to GD Mass Development (GD Group) in 2014 as Personal Assistant to its Executive Chairman to manage the group’s diverse business interests.   He started his career at Digital Road Map Interactive Sdn. Bhd as an Application Implementer where he managed ERP software implementations for large corporates like 7-Eleven, MOL, FELDA, Time Engineering Bhd, PERNAMA and Popular Bookstore.

Anthony graduated from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2009 with a Bachelor Degree of Management of Technology with Honours. Subsequently, he obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from UNITAR International University in 2022. He is also the member of Malaysian Institute of Management and Malaysia Board of Technologists.

Koh Yee Ang ACCA; BSc(Hon) in Applied Accounting

Investment Associate

A highly driven analyst, Yee Ang has a solid educational background in finance and extensive experience in analyzing investment opportunities. He will be assisting his team member in conducting thorough due diligence, assessing financial models, and identifying key risk factors and growth drivers. He is also adept at doing market research to understand market trends, the broader industry dynamics, technological trends, the competitive landscapes and positioning of target companies.

Prior to joining Newgen, Yee Ang had worked with investment bank, audit firm and a construction in different capacities where he was involved in conducting feasibility studies and financial modelling as well as tax and accounting matters.

Yee Ang graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom. He also obtained his Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification in 2020.
